Bikes: Bike Nashbar AL-1 ,Raligh M50 , Schwinn Traveler , and others

sound like you need new cable & housing . the housing have dirt or something in it which the cable is hanging up on. I would also check the bracket under the bb if your cable is routed that way.there may be something in it path.
