In general, you could probably say that, but both companies made a full range of bikes, so I don't think anyone would rather have an entry level Miyata rather than a high end Fuji. In terms of vintage collecting, you are rarely, if ever presented with the choice of this high end Fuji in mint condition, in a size that fits at a reasonable price vs. that high end Miyata in mint condition, in a size that fits at a reasonable price.
