Most road frames are designed to be used with offset seatposts. That is why most road seatposts are offset. Most straight seatposts are probably sold to triathletes who want a more forward riding position so they can lean on their aero bars. Some recreational road cyclists may be more comfortable on a straight seatpost if they have an unusual body shape like a very short torso for your height.
