Another gorgeous crisp morning. But I was nearly taken out by a little pickup that veered into the bike lane to pass a left-turner. No real danger but I saw it a little late and I think I was madder at myself for not anticipating that maneuver sooner. Anyway, at the next light I caught up and yelled through the passenger window: "Please don't pass on the right!"

Dull look of non-recognition from both the driver and passenger. As they pulled away, I started to think that they don't speak English. They looked fairly Slavic so I spent the rest of the ride in trying to figure out how to say "Please don't pass on the right" in Russian. Too many verb forms of "to go," too many cases and declensions in Russian grammar!
