I went and looked at it and ended up being a 1 x 9 speed. They converted it to a 1 x 9. The chainring on the front was well used. The cassette was OK. But the wheels and rims looked really heavy. the tires were about 1/2 used. I really liked the disc brakes.

But, with the hills in UT, I really need the triple crank set. I think it would cost too much to buy a new crankset, bottom bracket?, derailurer and shifter. I think I could get a better bike for the $500 - $600 range.

Or, do you think it would be worth it to replace these. The forks were a bommer 2001. So, most of the bike is about 6 years old.
