i posted earlier about getting a slipping feeling on my first ride.
long story short, i stripped my lockring, brought it to my LBS, went riding again.
the toe-overlap is a bit annoying and i'm always worried about it. even when i'm going fast. i know i shouldn't worry, but it's just that i got that "almost fell on my ass" feeling when trying out my bike at low speeds. i think i'll eventually get over it. right now i'm trying to get the hang of stopping. i know to skid-stop people say that you need to get your weight more to the front of the bike. but i've also seen videos where people are completely seated on their saddle when the do it. but when then do it that way, they're usually riding fast in a congested area and the skids are short swings to either side - maybe that's something different. anyway, i won't post this question here for fear of being told to use the search function. but yeah, still learning...i'm gaining more appreciation for it - that whole thing about feeling more "one" with the bike is sorta true, and i like!
