Try to get the bars up as high as you can, your LBS can help you with that. I like mine slightly higher then seat level.

If you still don't like the drops, Moustache bars might be good too. you can keep the same levers and shifters as well, so it'll be pretty cheap.

I don't mind the shifters on the LHT. The back one is indexed, and works flawlessly. the front one is friction, which I prefer, since you often need to fine tune it
