28lbs is NOT a heavy bike. Shedding 2lbs is not going to make you a better rider... and chromoly isnt exactly going to have you throwing down tailwhips either. the more you ride it the stronger you will get and the easier it will be to throw around your bike, or if you want to speed up the process start working out. replacing parts that arnt broken is already a waste of time and money, never mind replacing a whole bike. over time replace your bike piece by piece and by the end you will have a custom bike built to your preferance. odds are the next complete you buy you will end up not liking for some reason or another too. You already have a bike...is it the greatest? no, but it doesnt have to be and there will always be better bikes. Not to mention its a WAY betterbike then most kids have to ride... i've seen some pretty crazy stuff done on a xmart bike that had to of easily weighed 40lbs. Your bike and its high ten steel are plenty good enough for you for now, how do i know that? you havent broke it yet. I'm telling ya, invest the money into what you have, that weigh you end up with a bike setup for you and in the end will be built of better components then a complete.
