Usually on swim lesson nights I bike my 3 yr old in trailer from daycare to the Y and 7 yr old takes the bus w/ friends. He'll take the bus home and I'll trailer her up the hill home w/ the rest of my pannier paraphernalia yadda yadda... Last night, my wife had the car and drove him from school to her daycare and then both of them to the Y. When we left at the end, I got to throw my panniers in her car for a nice zippy ride home.

Also, I got soaked riding to the Y from work in what started as mist and ended as downpour. I put my sopping smartwool shirt in the bathing suit centrifugal dryer and spun out a *lot* of water so it was much lighter when I put it back on. So that was another bonus of sorts.

On the other hand, because he got a ride straight from school to the Y, 7 yr old's bike spent the night there so he rode his scooter in this morning and he finally appreciated the difference between biking and scooting uphill. I took the scooter home for him and he should be biking home tonight.
