That is the single funniest yet true thing I've ever heard.
I nearly got hit by one of the civilian MP's on NASNI one morning. When I flagged him over (aka got in front of him and stopped), and told him I wanted his badge number and phone number to his supervisor, the SOB wrote me a citation.. for riding in traffic in an unsafe manner and threatened to take my bike. After about a 30 minute verbal scuffle, (I'm assuming the watch sup) came along and made a deal, no ticket for me, and no call to his sup for him. That was about 3 years ago now.
I try to be nice to the local base police here, as they do protect me and others from terrorist and thieves. A few months ago they shot and killed some guys stealing a motorcycle from the no decal lot. (There's a lot to the story...) So, I want to respect that they do look out for us and protect us. But being a sleep at the wheel in the Dodge Dingo and nearly running me into a curb kind of puts that all on edge.
I'd just as soon you get a real helmet than not, but it's your choice really.
