I have and race a '06 Trek 1000 w/ a Sora/Tiagra mix. IMO, you should wait and replace the whole bike at some point. In the meantime, get the derailleurs tuned by someone who knows what they're doing. Best upgrades on this bike are saddle, brake pads, & new tires.
