Cycling and hip injuries

Howdy fellow tri-heads!

I was wondering, has anyone experienced hip injuries while training for triathlons associated mainly with the biking? I have been taking time off from cycling due to what seems like an inflammation of some sorts in my left hip. I notice the most pain in the area especially while riding in the aero position. It seems to really crank my hips into a lot of flexion.
So here's my question. I'm riding on a road bike (2006 TREK Madone 5.2), with a standard road bike saddle. Is it possible that riding in the aero position, and not having a tri specific saddle with a bit of angle to it is causing me to position my hips at an extreme angle? Therefore causing stress on the hip joint? Would a professional fitting also help?
Also, I'm a college student without a great amount of green, so cost effective ideas are preferred. Thanks!!!
