Actually Alanbikehouston has method to his madness. To expand on the "cockpit" concept, optimizing your triangle of feet, hands and butt relative to each other is key. This means distance and angle. A hurdle I've not passed is, once found, how to transfer it to another bike.

Length is measurable. Angle is equally critical to get my butt relative to my feet, hands relative to my butt, etc. How can I precisely measure three points in space relative to each other?
