While most of us rational people here may assume that the proper way to list a product's weight would be to measure a random sampling off the production line and use the average, we'd be wrong.
The proper way, it seems, is to take that same random sampling, use statistics to find a Gaussian distribution and find the weight that the lowest 0.1% of the items off the assembly line could weigh. Then subtract 5% from that because "everybody does it", and print it on the box.
