No, the windbreaker does not have the thumb loops. I wish it did, I have those on a TNF jacket I commute in, and wear around campus, and really like it.

The tailor idea is not bad. I also have a pair of bibs that one of the flat-stitched seams is unraveling and I've been meaning to take it to a tailor somewhere to see if it can be saved.
