I think I'm going to buy the Park TM-1 meter for < $60, use it, and throw it eBay once I'm through.

Like wmodavis, will biked, alcanoe and others said, I'd like the peace of mind of knowing that my wheel is well-made from the start - especially since the front is radial. Although I bet I could build a fine wheel w/o the meter (I'd also prob. bring it to the lbs for a check), I'm still learning and could use the guide. I'll try to remember to post some pictures when I'm through.
