When I was over in China, most impressive things I saw on bikes was some dood with two stacks of baskets--BIG baskets nested together--maybe two dozen or so. The basket stacks on either side of the bike were more than twice as tall as the guy riding the bike.

Another bike had 6 propane tanks strapped to it.

Add a motor to the picture and things get even more out of hand. Popular motos over there are 200cc utility bikes that look like a 70s UJM. They use them for taxis and seeing people three up on such a bike was not uncommon, including ladies riding side-saddle. Most impressive loads were a truly large and scary piece of sheet metal (Danger, Will Robinson, danger!), and another with a refrigerator strapped onto the back, much like that couch.

Amazing what people can and will use two wheels for out of necessity.
