Seems would have been a lot easier if the seller had just taken off all the parts and sent them along for the $700 or so, saved some shipping and potential frame wear and tear (or even damage) by doing so. The less bike frames are exposed to UPS/FedEx handling, the better, IMHO.
Agreed. I had no idea when I bought it that the seller would have any interest in buying back the frame. I never asked him. In fact, I didn't even mention until I got the bike that the frame was too big and that I intended to put its parts on another project of mine. I wasn't sure how he'd take that after investing so much in his Masi. But he was fine with it and asked me how much I wanted for the frame.
