I do take the lane. However, when people are pulling out IN FRONT OF ME it doesn't really matter if I'm on the right, in the center, or on the left. In regards to that last guy racing through the light with half his car over the double yellow (to avoid me) to grab the next right, how the heck do I counter that? Kick his door as he passes me?
I would just stop instead of trying to hurry through. Would this have worked in your situation?
People commute in 5 o'clock traffic every day, many of them on this board. It's not that bad once you get used to it (I commute at 5 o'clock but my route is residential so I don't have the same concerns as you).
