Forget your biases. The Folding Gatorskin fits your stated needs pretty well, in my opinion. What's your objection any way? It can't be that you want an occasional flat.
  • Too heavy? It's 220g compared to the Krylion's 235g.
  • They are both somewhat "high mileage tires". YMMV.
  • Neither are impervious to flats, but both have adequate protection. YMMV.
  • Gatorskins have a reasonably supple ride, in my judgment.

Biketiresdirect.com has the Krylions for $39.95USD (apparently in stock)
PBK has the Folding Ultragatorskin for ~$22.50USD (apparently not in stock)

For your purposes, these two tires seem pretty interchangable to me.
