My setup uses a nut screwed onto a threaded stud that is on the BB. The dust cap for my Campy has a portion on the inside that interferes with the nut causing it not to screw flush.
That setup will always interfere with Campagnolo crank dustcaps. I wouldn't advise using one of those spindles either, for it will almost always be JIS taper, while the Campag crankset is ISO.
