I was going to say I've had enough for the year on December 31. Then I can start a whole new year the next day.
And I don't mean that in a facetious manner.
My commutes are mercifully short in bad weather, and I add miles in better weather. Two miles one-way hardly seems worth the effort to get kitted up, but most days I do because most days I can add miles to my route.
I've also become a quick-change artist. I can be changed and out of the library within five minutes after shooing out the last patron--and that includes setting the alarm and checking the doors. Then again, I don't fuss with clothes because I don't have to wear clothes that require fussing.
Now in winter, I don't always change shirts, but even on my shortest commute, I can't stand pedaling in jeans. The binding in the knees slows my cadence by 10 or 15 RPM and don't get me started on the binding in the crotch. I always wear bike clothes from the waist down.
