Dry surface against dry surface is not very often the best answer to engineering problems. But you may get away with it on something as simple and understressed as a bike. Personally I wouldn't risk it due to the possibility of bonding, as has been said.

Regular grease has gotten a bad rep where carbon is concerned, because of slippage issues due to the very slick surfaces. That's why the "gritty" carbon prep compounds were invented. But regular grease can be perfectly okay. My carbon frame came with a roughened seatpost internal wall and has absolutely no problems with a smooth carbon post lubed with regular grease.
