I have a Gitane Tour de France. All the original stuff is there and in good working condition, yours would cause problems if and when you tried to upgrade the headset or bottom bracket. You can switch out the Simplex derailleur for something else quite easily if it uses an adapter claw, rims are easy enough to change.
