I've had my eggbeaters with the 3-hole road cleat for almost two years now. Not even close to changing the cleats. One of these years, I suppose I'll need to replace the little plastic grip piece that goes around the cleat, just for renewed walking traction. Maybe in 2 or 3 more years ...

Plenty of float, easy in and out, and no issues with mud or sand if I accidentally step in it on the side of the road or something.
