And FWIW, I haven't been riding nearly as much since a back injury that I've been dealing with since mid-summer, but I work 5-6 days a week, about 24 miles round trip, so that's 120-140 miles a week, approximately, and I normally do several recreational/training rides a week outside of that, so yeah, I do put in similar mileage.

Look, I'm not trying to bust your balls here; if they aren't working for you, you certainly should switch. What is causing the wear on your cleats, though, seems to be a mystery. You sure you aren't doing a lot of walking around in them?
well yeah - how many and what kind of miles you put on the cleats has direct bearing, I mean a guy who rides 20 hours a week is going to be harder on cleats than a guy who rides 10, especially in commuter miles.
