Great reports guys! Thanks for sharing. Does the bagel shop on Patrick deliver/ship?

Anway, the ride out of Williamsport was geat. I don't have a BiM recording because I couldn't get a GPS signal at the ride start... sux!

Crista & Chuck were on a tandem, Nick and Jan were on another tandem. Then there was Maile, Paul, Mike, Neil, and me.

The first few miles, I took it easy, riding with Maile for awhile as we chatted, catching up with the goings-on in our lives. After a while, though, I could no longer ride her pace, especially as slow as she was going up the hills, so I caught on to Chuck and Crista's wheel. I followed them up to Paul. Paul and Neil had taken a flyer off of the front from the start, but Paul fell back--Neil was still up the road and still within sight.

At one point, Paul shot off of the front as if he would bridge back up to Neil, but he sat up. A few minutes later, I decided to "attack" catching on to Paul's wheel, making a definitive pass, and pushed to catch Neil. It took about 15-20 minutes before I finally caught up with him.

Neil and I rode the rest of the way to the one and only stop in the first 54 miles of the ride--at the Panorama at the Peak Restaurant in Berkeley Springs. We had to work for our lunch--it was a long grinding climb to the top of the ridge to the restaurant.

Lunch at the restaurant was great. Being hungry helped. They had some great portobella mushroom recipes--I had a burger, though.

After lunch, we headed back through Berkeley Springs. There's the descent back into town followed by a climb back out.

Great scenery on the ride, but at first there was so much fog we couldn't see much of anything. Once the fog burned off, some fantastic vista were visible. After lunch was no exception. Maile and Jan took pictures of the ride.

All in all, it was a great ride; a brand new ride with over 6,000ft of climbing--Chuck had 6,500ft and I had 6,200ft on our computers, respectively.

I'd definitely do this ride again.
