Finally got my Sun EZ Sport with the Ecospeed 36V mid-drive system home last week. Got the 20AH 36V LiFePO4 hooked up and after buzzing around a bit to get used to it, took it out for a real ride this morning.
Total distance was 15 miles, 4AH consumed. Maximum speed was 32 mph (downhill) limited only by courage. The middle chainring was used throughout. I did make use of all 7 speeds to take the hills up and down. The controller is 30A, it did draw 32A at peak according to the computer. While the maximum continuous discharge is 30A for the pack, the BMS never tripped, they must leave enough room for short bursts in excess.
The system Ecospeed has put together is awesome IMO, no fuss, just charge and go.
In retrospect I can see why a 10AH pack would be fine since that would allow for 30 miles or so with less weight.
Too much fun!
