Does the replacement rear cassette have to have the same number of gears as the original cassette?
I have an 8 speed, and would like to get a different cassette range, but I don't know what would be compatable on my bike.

What cadence are you pedaling on those 20% grades?

Some people here say they can spin gears like that on high grades, at speeds that would equate to +1500 watts.
