You're not alone - I've had a few comments along the lines of my bike is a tractor or the frame is made of lead or something. It's 22 lbs without pedals, about 5 pounds more than a modern bike without pedals. Of course the critics always like to pick up the bike with it's tool kit, pump and a full water bottle (~28 lbs) and pronounce it way to heavy! Ignore them and keep riding!
