OK, if you're going to hijack the thread, I'll join in! My username comes from my hobby of using/collecting old woodworking handtools. I've belonged to the OldTools email list since 1997, and on that list, we call each other "galoots". I even have a Galoot hat that I got from a listmember.

I have several nice pieces of furniture that I've made using hand tools only, and a couple more that I made after I bought a bandsaw and a thickness planer. I have zero use for a tablesaw, the things scare me. But I have a basement full of wonderful old tools, some of them close to 150 years old, that work very well for sawing and planing wood, and cutting various joints (dovetail, mortise/tenon, etc).

The quality of work in those old tools is just amazing to behold.
