1,000 forks, eh? I start to draw the line there. I don't think I've even repaired 1,000 different individual bikes yet (at last rough count, I believe I've repaired about 300-350 - that is including local repairs and Craigslist machines).

Ask, and ye shall receive. It is not a pretty photo - have yet to clear the workbench of wrecked junk, please excuse it:

Had intended to straighten the Klein fork today, but got tied up with the '70 Paramount today (photos to come).

Kurt,

Thanks for the pic. The FT-4 is very similar to Stein I used back in the day. Does it have a built in 'guide' or 'jig' to level the fork crown or does it level against the top face of the vise?

I figure I straightened 1-2 forks per week for 12 years!! I couldnt imagine how many bikes I've fixed. During the busy season we had a 2 week wait on repairs and all I did was repair bikes all day long 5 days a week in the summer!!!!

Maybe 30-40 per week over the 4 month summer season...so thats 500 or so each year during the busy season plus the remaining 8 slow months......800 per year for 12 years? 9600?
