While I believe there is no significant weight advantage, it does prove to be extremely stiff, yet, it is not very harsh (even with the FSA RD 80 wheels). That said, I have to say that it is my second favorite machine to ride, if not the most comfortable and efficient of the entire lot - I only choose the '61 over it for the fact that I enjoy the older components more then the later Shimano 600 group.
