Your best bet for a starting point would be to post a WTB in the classifieds forum with the steer tube length spec and see if one of the classic guys can help you out. You'll need to paint to match but that's a minor issue unless it's something really wild.
great idea, i think i'll post the specs here too:
the steerer is 5 1/4" long (133mm) with 1 1/2" of threads (38mm), as measured from the top of the lip where the lower race sits. i'm also looking to put 700cc wheels on the bike, if that makes any difference. thanks!
