I've never understood why anyone would want to ride such a doofy type of bike....until now! Now I realize how genius the idea is! I may buy one to ride in the city and not worry about finding a place to lock up the bike.
Personally, I'd probably buy a cheap bike and always lock it somewhere with lots of other bikes. I'd also make use of public transportation; there's lots of it in NYC. Would be best to have a job where I could take the bike inside, however.
