Yes, the ride in the ambulance would have definitely cost $1,000.00.
However, out of pure luck the woman stopped to help. At that point, I was on the side of the road with my bike pumped full of adrenaline. I then started to wash off the debris from the road in my skin with the water the others had provided. Burrrnnnnnn.
Fortunately, the woman was kind enough to give me and my bike a ride back home (20minutes).
Later that night I figured I should take a trip to the ER (with the help of my g/f) in order to confirm everything would heal up right and that the hip was not fractured. The ER doctor had moved my leg in 5 different positions before confirming that it was not broken.
Lastly, no local anesthesia, no xray, no MRI. Just a jelly substance to numb up the skin, deep anesthetic scrubbing, and a gordita wrap for my arm and my leg.
The showers in the days that followed burned (no surprise). Tegaderm saved me the agony about 4 days later.
