I need to stop taking so many african american studies classes.
And race will always be an issue in American society.
That is a BS cop out. Typical of ivory tower pontification. Power comes in many forms, and you can be sure that a white man at the mercy of an armed black man who hates white people is a potential victim of racism.
With a black president in office it will be kind of hard to say that whites have a "higher status" anymore.
A higher status by what measure? There are plenty of black people who make more money than a lot of white people. Racial discrimination is no longer condoned or institutionalized by society, making it a personal matter between people. Equal people.
