I've done both, but really enjoy building. I've now been doing the C&V thing long enough to know what I want. I really like 1980's frames, (mid to upper level) and brifters. The only way to marry those two is by building. To date, I've completed three mtb frame-up builds and a brifter retro-fit to a 93 Bianchi Campione. I'm about to retro fit brifters to a 1991 Cannondale for a lady I work with. Following that job, I'm going to do frame up builds on three 1980s bikes. One will be the late 80s Ironman I obtained through a trade with RobbieTunes, another will be the 1986 Fuji Team I'm in lust with and the third is still undecided. It's a toss up between a 85 Nishiki Prestige, a 90 Bianchi Forza, a 86 Ironman, or a 83 all original Trek 560.
