A few months ago, I had a Wippermann link dis-assemble it's self while downshifting climbing a hill. In all my years of previously using SuperLinks, and SRAM links, I never had that happen. Of course since my old pal Murphy was watching, one half of the link went off into the weeds and got lost.

Since then, I:
- No longer use Wippermann chains or links.
- Carry a small Park chain tool.
- Carry a spare SRAM link.
