Since a dahon twice failed to satisfy you, I'd doubt a new one would. And if you're not going to take it off road, why get the bouncy suspension?
If you want sporty perhaps you shoud also consider a Crusoe or a
PR instead of the NWT and then tour with the 2 wheel trailer.
I have both a NWT and a Dahon Speed 8, and IMO the NWT is way more fun to ride.
