I have just purchased the Hope Vision 4 LED which is rated at 940 lumens and have been very happy with it. Went for a night ride with a group from work with a couple of others using HID's and all our lights seemed to be very similar, with none brighter than the other.

The main things to worry about are the quality of the mounts and charger. The Hope charger is OK but nowhere near as good as the Lumicycle one I had with my halogen lights. Also with the HID's you cannot turn them off when you stop for a quick snack, you need to keep them running.

Before you buy read up as much as you can, then choose one of the big manufacturers. Lupine, Lumicycle, Light & Motion, Niterider, Hope and Exposure are all very good it all depends what your requirements are really, but these will not generally let you down.
