I hear you about the short travel bike with slack angles...I'm loving the 4x...it can do anything. Wind the Pike down and it's great for XC...it climbs better than the Coiler did. I used it for a couple of XC races this year and took third in one of them.

Lock out the shock and the fork and it's great for urban or at the BMX track.

I've got a short stem and wide bar on it now and I've been using it for shuttling. I can keep up with the guys on the big bikes no problem.

And with the low BB, it loves corners!
