It's 4:30 EST and there's no Saturday ride report?
Well I went out, it's was another balmy day here in New England, bib shorts and a short sleeve Jersey. The mail man promised me no rain today, "a perfect afternoon for a bike ride" - I figure in his line of work he needs to be up the latest weather reports, so the decision is made to put off the Fall chores for another week (that will give the leaves time to blow over into my neighbor's yards)
Great, I kit up at 1:30, hit the road by 2:00..... Get a good 12 miles in heading up through Westminster towards Mt Wachusett. No sooner did I get to the top of Mile Hill road when the sky opened up. 12 miles of great riding, and then 24 miles of HTFU(tm) riding through pelting rain - Sterling, Lancaster, and back home.
What the heck, I could have turned around at mile 12, but once you're wet what difference does it make?
Besides, I need the miles to make my 2008 goal
