I emailed CDR today after I stripped the chainring bolts on my SRM. I bought cheap and heavy steel ones to replace them.

He told me of his days as a weight weenie using Al bolts and said that he'd stripped and broken many, and had a teammate break 3 in a crit once. He stopped using them after that.

I'm glad I swapped mine to steel
