Why not buy them off the web if you know your shoe size? If you don'y know your size go to your LBS and try on shoes to determine your right size. For $200 bucks you can get a older version Sidi (NIB) and and a good set of pedals. Your LBS will mark these items ~ 100% and Performance and Nashbar aren't that great either (especially when they soak you with shipping). The key is to know what you need / want (manufacturer / model / size) and buy from a reputable supplier. There are plenty on E Bay.
Hah! I knew my size in Shimano (wear 43 mtn shoe) and I
still had to exchange my shoes for a 42 road shoe (also Shimano) [In my case, I bought my shoes online, the discount off of retail/new price was enough to justify multiple cross-shipments]. Additionally, sizes vary among manufacturers/brands.
