First part, off of Skyline, is paved, then it turns to a dirt road then singletrack and ends on old Alpine Rd (dirt part). I regularly ride it (on a mountain bike) as part of my Russian Ridge rides, fun descent...but don't remember any street signs now that you mention it...

ps There are Mid-Regional Open Space District signs, though, one right at Skyline, another when it actually enters the Coal Creek Open Space...
