You use what you need to. If bike theft is rare in Miami (stop laughing!) the cable might do, but if you don't mind lugging it around, a krypto or abus chain might work better. I couldn't tell if the cable was looped under the top tube. If it is, great, if not, loop it under to secure the frame so you'll have two ways of securing the frame instead of just the u-lock.
