SNAP! Parrallel develoment on both sides of the Atlantic! My eldest is 23, same experience, same fascination - and another huge crate of expensively-purchased Brio awaiting HIS offspring!

FWIW I thought the TV version with Ringo Starr as narrator was excellent. Also have a vast collection of original Rev Awdry books waiting for any new arrivals!
