Bikes: How'd I get this many?

cable routing - Campagnolo C-Record Shifters

Is there a "proper" or standard way to route the shifter/brake cables on a Campagnolo C-Record shifter setup?

I (of course) have four cables to work with:

1) Right lever brake cable is under the front of the handlebar tape and runs to the right of the headtube (if on the bike) and down under the top tube

2) Left brake lever is under front of the tape and runs straight down to the front brake caliper (a bit of a curve in the housing)
********************************

3) Right shifter cable runs under the bar tape at the back of the handlebar --it seems to be naturally going to the left of the top tube. Should it be on the right or the left of the headtube?

4) Left shift cable runs under the bar tape at the back of the handlebar --it seems to naturally want to head to the right of the headtube. Should it be on the right or left of the headtube?

The issue is that the "natural" place for the shifter cables to run puts the longer cable (rear) at the front derailleur spot on the bottom bracket shell. And, it does the same for the short cable/front.
