Not a good option at that intersection. Glen is one of those old Dutch Roads from the late 1600's that can't get much wider. If I remember right, it was the early 70's when they took the wide-single lane of east-bound Glen and split it into two by adding a turn lane. I don't think they have improved that side of the intersection much since (and certainly not since September when I was last there.)
Cyclist should have kept the lane and not filtered.

Your parents live on Hillcrest? Do you think they'd like to adopt me? My relations bought their house on California Street 3 years ago. I'm not even going to tell you the insane amount of money they paid for it.
The reason I didn't cycle, is because I live in the crappy part of Paramus near the Garden State Plaza Mall. That's a pretty good haul from California St. I had a lot of other things to do that day, so I just didn't have the time.
Did you know that the bike trail in the Saddle River County Park now extends from the duck pond in Ridgewood, goes through Paramus, Fairlawn, Glen Rock, Saddle Brook and ends at Railroad Ave in Rochelle Park? If you do the entire loop, including the side trails, it works out to about 18 miles.
